2 Months Old!!

Can you believe it?! I'm amazed that almost 9 weeks have passed since we welcomed our sweet Lydia to our family. We had her 2 month check-up with Dr. Farr today. She now weighs a whopping 11 pounds, 12 ounces and is 23 inches long! The picture above was taken before her doctor's appointment. Here is a picture AFTER her appointment...
Poor girl had 4 shots...it about broke my heart. I've never heard her scream like that before. She seems to be doing well now. She's sitting in her Bumbo seat watching me type.

Some milestones we've accomplished this month are: holding up our head, SMILING(!!!), cooing, imitating sounds (she almost has "hello" down!), and we found out last week that when she is held in the cradle position she can pull herself up into a seated position...mind you, she can't stay that way long, but it's progress!

On Memorial Day we went up to Blountsville to my cousin's farm for a Barn Dance. It was in celebration of my cousin's graduation from college, his oldest girl's graduation from 5K (or maybe it was 4K?), and his youngest girl's 1st birthday. It was a lot of fun...I just wish we could have found cowboy boots in Lydia's size!!! Here are some pictures from the day:

My Medical Updates: I had to go to the ER last Sunday morning. I had gotten sick 10 times between 1:15 and 5:00 am. They gave me an IV and did some blood work and then scheduled me for a cat scan. I had to drink barium, which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, so they could look at my intestines. Yet again, everything checked out normally.

I had an ultrasound scheduled for last Monday morning. They wanted to look at my gallbladder to make sure I didn't have gall stones. Lo and behold, everything came back perfectly normal on the ultrasound. So we're right back where we started from.

My GI doctor REALLY upset me the last time we spoke. He basically told me that the medicine should be working and that he doesn't know what's wrong with me. It was almost as if he was writing me off...like he thought I was making all this up. I was in tears when I got off the phone with him. Thankfully, I had already scheduled an appointment with another doctor at St. Vincent's. I see her on Thursday.

Since I was STILL getting sick, I stopped taking all the meds the jerk-doctor prescribed for me. Amazingly enough, it's been 3 days and I haven't gotten sick yet. I hope this continues! I'm still keeping the appointment with the other doctor. Hopefully she can figure out what was going on with me.

I will post more soon. I have a very special gift that I'm working on for Tim for Father's Day. I will post it on the blog after Father's Day!
