3 Months Old!

Sorry I haven't posted anything in FOREVER, but it's been a busy summer! Lydia turned 3 months old on July 2nd and I still can't get over how fast time flies! She has excellent head control now and she's curious about EVERYTHING! She loves to be able to look around while we are out and about and we've found that she loves the outdoors. She's sleeping about 8-10 hours each night...had you told me that she would be sleeping that long when she was 2 weeks old I would have laughed in your face. It's amazing what happened when we started giving her the pro-biotic her pediatrician recommended (BioGaia) and changed her formula! Her colic went away almost overnight and she began sleeping MUCH better (and so did Mom and Dad!). Tim and I love going into her room in the mornings after she wakes because we are always greeted with the biggest smile. We immediately know that we're going to have a wonderful day because of her smile!

We are now beginning the teething stage...yay! It seems like she's drooling nonstop and she's constantly chewing on things. Her pediatrician told me at her 2 month checkup that it was too early for her to have teething symptoms, but she's got them! I'm wondering if she'll cut a tooth before her 4 month checkup on August 10th?

Lydia has also found her voice! She loves squealing as loud as she can in order to get your attention. But she seems to be entertained talking to herself! I just wish I could figure out what was going on inside that little head of hers!

We have also found that Lydia loves to stand! We offer her a little support, but she's got amazing strength in her legs...unfortunately she's like her mother in that she doesn't quite have the balance thing working for her. We're wondering if she's going to skip crawling altogether and just start walking.

Currently, I'm having to deal with the fact that I only have a few more precious weeks at home with her. Every time I think of having to leave her at daycare I cry...I'm not sure how I will handle my first week back at school. My mom suggested that I take her to daycare the week before I go back to work so that she can get used to the ladies and other babies there. Of course, I started crying as soon as she mentioned it. But I know she has a good point; taking Lydia to daycare for a couple hours each day the week before I go back to work full time will be good for her and hopefully won't be too much of a shock for her when she has to stay there all day...and hopefully it will help me get used to the idea as well. Tim will definitely have to drop her off when I go back to work...I would be too much of a basket-case. But since I still have 3 weeks to spend with her, I'm going to make the most of it!

The pictures in the slide show at the top were taken by our friends, Steve and Kari with Launchpad Creatives. They did such an amazing job...I know working with a 2 month old isn't easy! And I just realized that there's some country song playing in the slide show. I have no clue what's up with that...please ignore it! I don't want to have to go back and re-do it!

Although I'm sure you all are aware that Lydia Grace was born on April 2nd, Tim and I are FINALLY getting around to sending out birth announcements...better late than never, right?

Tim and I have been working on turning his former poker room into a family room. He graciously gave up the "man room" since it had been over a year since his friends have come over to play poker. We bought new couches and moved the big screen and gaming equipment downstairs. We're planning on adding a corner desk for the computer and such. The upstairs living room will finally be free from most of Lydia's toys and I won't have to run around the house trying to clean that room before company comes over! We will still have a tv up there, but it will be MUCH smaller than the big screen! Here are some pictures of the room so far, but please keep in mind that it's a work in progress. We still need to get a storage ottoman and side tables.
